A climber walking across granite above the Squamish valley

About

At home in the western ranges.

I’m a ski alpinist, climber, route developer, and mountain runner based in Squamish, British Columbia.

The mountains between the eastern edge of Yamnuska and the Coast Range are the country I keep returning to. This journal is a place for the photographs, route stories, rough approaches, and small observations gathered along the way.

My weekday work sits at a different intersection: medical physics and software engineering. Both ask for patience, precision, and close attention. The hills ask for much the same, with considerably better views.

“The freedom of the hills” is less a destination than a way of moving through them.
